With the election around the corner....I thought this might be a fun theme. This will also work with Memorial Day and 4th of July:

Invitation Suggestions: Hip hip hooray for the red, white & blue. Come join the party.

What to Wear Suggestions: Red, white and blue clothes and jewelry, Uncle Sams top hat. Flag Pin or tie.

Decorating/Music/Party Favors Suggestions: Red, white and blue crepe paper; red, white and blue balloons; flower in vases with unlit sparklers or metallic streamer sticks; Red tablecloth with white paper plates & red and blue plastic wear.

Music: Star Spangled Banner, Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA, Green Day - American Idiot, Neil Diamond - America, John Mellencamp - Rock in the USA, James Brown - Living in America, Eminem - White America, 2 Live Crew - Banned in the USA, Madonna - American Life

Food/Menu Suggestions:
* Beverages: Patriotic Punch, Lemonade, Cherry Soda, Sprite & Blue Raspberry kool-aid. For adults: Cranberry Juice, Watermelon Schnapps, and blue curacao. Maybe ribs would be good for the election -- since it seems they are getting poked in the ribs quite a bit.
* Main Meals: Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Firecracker Fries (sprinkle Cajun seasoning on them)
* Accompaniments: Red, white and blue tortilla chips, colored popcorn, red licorice, colored chocolate covered pretzel sticks, rice cereal & marshmallow treats decorated as flags.
* Desserts: Apple Pie or Cherry Pie, cupcakes with red, white & blue frosting, Jello poke cake with strawberries & blueberries decorated on top to look like a flag

Projects/Fun Suggestions: Make red, white and blue necklaces with pony beads. Mini Flags, Flag Stickers, red/white/blue beach ball
